Adrian Nakea Silva
Founder and Chairman of the Board
Adrian Nakea Silva serves as the Chairman and leader of Hui Huliau and as our representative to the Native Hawaiian community. He directs all Hui Huliau nonprofit programs benefiting Native Hawaiians and works with other civic leaders and nonprofit organizations to address the needs of the community we serve.
Adrian is Native Hawaiian and a lifelong resident of Oahu and the Waianae Coast. As a frequent community volunteer, he has seen firsthand the effects that poverty, despair, absence of opportunity, and loss of cultural identity have on his community. He is passionate about helping Native Hawaiians build a path to a better life through education and economic opportunity and preserving the rich culture of the Native Hawaiian people.
Prior to serving as Hui Huliau’s Chairman, Adrian spent over 20 years as a senior executive in the Federal contracting industry, where he specialized in construction and facilities management in support of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, U. S. Air Force, U. S. Coast Guard, U. S. National Guard, and the Department of Health and Human Services. He serves on the Board of Directors and chairs the Membership Committee for the Native Hawaiian Organization Association (NHOA). He is also a member of the Royal Order of Kamehameha I.
